TIGER ANNOUNCES SECOND AUSTRALIAN BASEMelbourne 28 August 2008 Tiger Airways Australia today announced the initial four new routes that will be added to the airline’s network from its base in Adelaide. The new routes take the airline’s network to 15 domestic Australian routes.
Shelley Roberts, Managing Director Tiger Airways Australia, said “Thousands of Australians voted for these new Tiger routes. I would like to personally thank each and every one of them for being part of the low fare revolution. By voting they have ensured that Tiger Airways gives our customers the route network they want”.
Tiger Airways is investing more than A$ 100m in aircraft assets in our new base which will result in more jobs in South Australia with Tiger Airways recruiting pilots, cabin crew and support staff to be based locally in Adelaide. Indeed Tiger Airways is currently conducting recruitment of pilots and cabin crew for its new base in Adelaide. Information on the available positions can be found on Tiger’s website.
Shelley Roberts said, “Traditionally many of the people of South Australia who’ve wanted to join an airline as a Flight Attendant have had to pursue their career interstate due to limited opportunities. This is such an exciting opportunity for some enthusiastic and energetic people to spread their wings and join our team without having to leave home”.
Tiger Airways will initially base 2 of its brand new A319s once they have been delivered from the Airbus factory in Hamburg at the new Adelaide base, with the expectation that additional aircraft will be based there over the next 8 years depending on consumer demand.
