Scoot Commences Services to Gold Coast
12 June 2012 – Hot on the heels of its inaugural flight to Sydney a week ago, Scoot, Asia’s newest low cost carrier, will take flight to the Gold Coast, its second Australian destination, tonight!
With the Gold Coast being “Famous for Fun”, Scoot is entering into the party spirit. The 400 guests aboard the inaugural service will be accompanied and entertained by Barbarella and Pornsak from Singapore’s award-winning TV comedy The Noose. And, in keeping with the lighthearted theme, the service will be operated by Barry, the name given to aircraft 9V-OTA after a social media competition.
“Scoot is excited to launch the first and only direct service between Singapore and the Gold Coast,” said Campbell Wilson, Scoot’s CEO. “With such great value airfares and convenience of travel, holidaying in these two destinations will never be the same again – save on the frills, spend on the thrills!”
Scoot’s five-times-weekly services depart from Singapore Changi Airport’s Terminal 2 at 10.25pm, and arrive at Gold Coast Airport at 7.50am the following day. The return flight departs the Gold Coast at 9.00am and arrives into Singapore at 3.00pm, offering connections to many of the 220 cities in 60 countries accessible from one of the world’s premier air hubs.
